Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 31st July 2015 we've a special big birthday bash to celebrate that night....pianist David Stevens is 90!! And he's playing with the band as well as Jiri Kripac on trumpet lead and Joel Davis on drums...it will be a great night of jazz...

Well it isn't often we get to celebrate a 90th birthday of a working jazz musician.....pianist David Stevens had made it and plays Club Ashfield's grand piano with the Bridge City Jazz band..an old mate of his Jiri Kripac is on trumpet lead and Mr smoothie, Joel Davis is on drums with the rest of the Bridge City JB regulars....Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass, Dennis Quinlan on banjo and John Bates on trombone and vocals.....

 David celebrates his 85th at Club Ashfield...

 Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights.... Best of all the admission is FREE....
