Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 20th December 2019 sees the last night of jazz with us for 2019... leading the band is Pam Withnall on soprano sax, Gordon Brown is on the Club's grand piano and Chris Gentle on drums

This coming Friday, 20th December 2019 at Club Ashfield we've Pam Withnall on soprano sax and reeds lead with Gordon Brown on piano,  and Chris Gentle on drums, joining the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars  Colin Beal on reeds, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
A night of great traditional jazz for dancing, listening and of course Christmas cheer....













 Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

  Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on most Jazz nights....  





 NO FURTHER JAZZ UNTIL FRIDAY 10TH JANUARY.... MOST OF  THE BAND ARE AT THE 74th AUSTRALIAN JAZZ CONVENTION IN ALBURY OVER THE CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR PERIOD....
THE FIRST FRIDAY BACK IS 10TH JANUARY 2020 WITH GREG ENGLERT ON CORNET LEAD....

Tony Thomas on cornet lead , Ron Cook on the Club's grand piano & Chris Gentle on drums...

The Canberra Duo are back....! And they will play with us this coming Friday 13th December 2019...at Club Ashfield ....Tony Thomas on cornet lead, Ron Cook on piano, Chris Gentle on drums, .....they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars  ...Colin Beal, reeds, Colin Davies double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo, Mike Hallam on trombone.

This coming Friday 6th December 2019 at Club Ashfield, we've Dave Ridyard leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on soprano saxophone featuring another of his "Celebration of 1920's Jazz"...Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano, Jim Morrell  on drums,  .....linking up with the Bridge City JB regulars.... Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds with Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.........
