Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 6th October 2017 we've Jiri Kripac "The Bouncin' Czech" on cornet lead, Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano and Craig Lee on the drumkit....

Its the "Bouncin' Czech" back with us this coming Friday 6th October at Club Ashfield...Jiri Kripac is on cornet lead, Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano and Craig Lee on the band drumkit...they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars....Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds, colin Davies on double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
A night of trad. jazz for dancing and listening....

 Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

 Geoff Power's Great Gatsby Orchestra...performing at Club Ashfield on Wed. 4th October 2017....admission charge is $15.

Al Davey is a great trumpet player as well as trombonist...you often see him at Club Ashfield playing trombone for us when Mike Hallam is away leading his own band somewhere....we've got Al leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on  trumpet this coming Friday 29th September 2017 with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano and Chris Gentle on our drumkit...they join the Bridge City JB regulars...Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
Sure to be some instrument swapping between Al and Mike during the night to add some flavour  to the nights entertainment....

Geoff Power is a busy Sydney musician who plays Australia wide, so it's great when we can organise him to come and lead the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield...he's with us this coming Friday 22nd September 2017 with Bradley Newman on the club's grand piano and Joel Davis on the bands drum kit....
