Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 1st November 2019 we welcome back the great jazz violinist George Washingmachine to lead the band with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano and Jim Morrell on drums....

Unfortunately at short notice,George Washingmachine is not playing for the Bridge City Jazz Band this coming Friday as originally posted...hope to get him back early in the New Year...So Greg Englert's back with us this coming Friday 1st November 2019 at Club Ashfield as a special guest with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano,  and Jim Morrell on drums .... they complement the regulars Bridge City JB members,  Dennis Quinlan on banjo, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds and Colin Davies on double bass....
A super night of swinging traditional jazz coming up.....

   Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

Al Davey is a great trumpet player as well as trombonist...you often see him at Club Ashfield playing trombone for us when Mike Hallam is away leading his own band somewhere....we've got Al leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on  trumpet this coming Friday 25th October 2019 with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano, and Joel Davis is on our drumkit, ...they join the Bridge City JB regulars...Colin Beal on reeds, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...

Welcome back to a youthful James Power taking the lead with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 18th  October 2019 ... from Canberra, Ron Cook  is on the Club's grand piano, Geoff Power on trombone and Chris Gentle is manning the drum stool, they join the BCJB regulars Colin Beal, reeds..Colin Davies, double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
A great night of traditional jazz is assured....
