Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 1st March 2019 has The Canberra Duo back..Tony Thomas on tpt lead, Ron Cook on the Club's grand piano with Jim Morrell on drums....

The Canberra Duo are back....! And they will play with us this coming Friday 1st March 2019...at Club Ashfield ....Tony Thomas on trumpet lead, Ron Cook on piano, Jim Morrell on drums, .....they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars  ...Colin Beal, reeds, Colin Davies double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo, Mike Hallam on trombone.
As well we'll be playing on Sat.2nd March 2019 2-5pm at Penrith RSL Club as a 6 piece band.... come join us... 




 Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

Dave Ridyard on soprano sax with his "Celebration of 1920's Jazz" program... Bradley Newman on piano and Graham Hilgendorf on drums....

This coming Friday 15th February 2019 at Club Ashfield, we've Dave Ridyard leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on soprano saxophone featuring another of his "Celebration of 1920's Jazz"...Brad Newman's on the Club's grand piano, Graham Hilgendorf on drums   .....linking up with the Bridge City JB regulars.... Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.........

Zach Raffen on trumpet from Canberra and Robbie Mann of the Club's grand piano also from Canberra, now based in the Blue Mtns west of sydney and on drums, our own evergreen Jim Morrell...

So this coming Friday 8th February 2019 sees us with two new special guests at Club Ashfield to complement the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars...both from Canberra...Zach Raffen on trumpet lead, Robbie Mann on piano and also as a special guest, Jim Morrell on drums.... as mentioned the BCJB regulars....Mike Hallam on trombone/harmonica, Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
