Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 7th September 2018 sees a great line-up with Al Davey on trumpet lead, Caroline "boogie" Packer on piano and Jim Fletcher on drums...

Al Davey is a great trumpet player as well as trombonist...you often see him at Club Ashfield playing trombone for us when Mike Hallam is away leading his own band somewhere....we've got Al leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on  trumpet this coming Friday 7th September 2018 with Caroline "boogie" Packer on the Club's grand piano and Jimmy Fletcher is on our drumkit...they join the Bridge City JB regulars...Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...

   Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz night..
