Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 17th July 2015 we've Paul Furniss leading the band on soprano saxophone, Monique Lysiak's on the Club's grand piano, Trevor Rippingale on tenor sax and Joel Davis on drums.....

Paul Furniss has been "in the wars" medically of late and its great to see he can be with us at Club Ashfield leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on soprano sax and other reeds..."Unique Monique", Monique Lysiak is on the piano, Joel Davis on the drum kit and with John Bates away its great to have Trevor Rippingale on tenor sax and other reeds.....

Forming the rest of the seven piece band for the night is Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....

Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights.... Best of all the admission is FREE....
