Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 4th May 2018 sees Dave Ridyard back on soprano sax.lead for his "Celebration of 1920's jazz" night with Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano, Al Davey on trombone, Gary Kohrmann on double bass and Jim Morrell on the drum stool..

This coming Friday 4th May 2018 at Club Ashfield, we've Dave Ridyard leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on soprano saxophone featuring another of his "Celebration of 1920's Jazz"...Brad Newman's on the Club's grand piano, Jim Morrell on drums Gary Kohrmann on double bass  and Al Davey on trombone- .....linking up with the Bridge City JB regulars.... Colin Beal on reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.........
You'll be assured of a great night of traditional jazz....

Its the "Bouncin' Czech" back with us this coming Friday 27th April 2018 at Club Ashfield...Jiri Kripac is on cornet lead, Brad Newman on the Club's grand piano and Chris Gentle  on the band drumkit and Geoff Power on trombone...they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars.... Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 20th April 2018 we've the super jazz violinist George Washingmachine lead the band with Gary Walford on piano, Eric Gibbons on trombone and Joel Davis on drums....wow!

George Washingmachine is always a welcome leader for the Bridge City Jazz Band and he's back with us this coming Friday 20th  April 2018 at Club Ashfield as a special guest with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano and Joel Davis on drums and Eric Gibbons on trombone.... they complement the regulars Bridge City JB members,  Dennis Quinlan on banjo, Colin Davies on double bass and Colin Beal on reeds....Mike Hallam is still recouperating from his heart attack and we hope to see him back soon...
A super night of swinging traditional jazz coming up.....

Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 13th April 2018 sees the duo from Canberra's old Black Mountain Jazz Band back with us...Tony Thomas on trumpet, Ron Cook on piano then Eric Gibbons on trombone and Chris Gentle on drums....

The Canberra Duo are back....! And they will play with us this coming Friday 16th February 2018...at Club Ashfield, ....Tony Thomas on trumpet lead, Ron Cook on piano, Chris Gentle on drums, with Eric Gibbons on trombone for both gigs.....they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars  ...Colin Beal, reeds, Colin Davies double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo.
 Unfortunately mid January our trombone player, Mike Hallam,  suffered a heart attack and will be "out of action" for some weeks more....he's had some medical setbacks but is recovering...
