Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 21st September 2018 we've Paul Furniss leading on soprano sax and other reeds, Bradley Newman on piano, and Lawrie Thompson drums....

Paul Furniss will lead off the forthcoming night at Club Ashfield on Friday 21st September 2018 with pianist Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano, plus and Lawrie Thompson on drums all in the band with Bridge City regulars ..Colin Beal, reeds, Colin Davies double bass, Mike Hallam on trombone.. and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
Sure to be some clarinet duets.....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz night..

Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 14th September 2018 the "Canberra Crew" from the old Black Mountain Jazz Band are with us...Tony Thomas tpt lead, Ron Cook piano, Chris Gentle drums and on trombone Eric Gibbons....

The Canberra Duo are back....! And they will play with us this coming Friday 14th September 2018...at Club Ashfield, then on the Sunday 16th Sept. at The Pines, Old Northern Road, dural 12.30pm-4pm ....Tony Thomas on trumpet lead, Ron Cook on piano, Chris Gentle on drums, with Eric Gibbons on trombone for the Fri.Club A gig .....they join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars  ...Colin Beal, reeds, Colin Davies double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo.
 Our regular trombone player, Mike Hallam,  will be playing with his own band elsewhere for the Fri. Club A gig but is with us at The Pines on Sunday....

Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 7th September 2018 sees a great line-up with Al Davey on trumpet lead, Caroline "boogie" Packer on piano and Jim Fletcher on drums...

Al Davey is a great trumpet player as well as trombonist...you often see him at Club Ashfield playing trombone for us when Mike Hallam is away leading his own band somewhere....we've got Al leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on  trumpet this coming Friday 7th September 2018 with Caroline "boogie" Packer on the Club's grand piano and Jimmy Fletcher is on our drumkit...they join the Bridge City JB regulars...Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
