Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 28th February 2020 has brilliant jazz violinist George Washingmachine lead the band with Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano & Graham Hilgendorf on drums...

George Washingmachine is always a welcome leader for the Bridge City Jazz Band and he's back with us this coming Friday 22nd  May 2020 at Club Ashfield as a special guest with Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano,  and Graham Hilgendorf on drums .... they complement the regulars Bridge City JB members,  Dennis Quinlan on banjo, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds and Colin Davies on double bass....
A super night of swinging traditional jazz coming up.....











   Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on most Jazz nights....

Greg Englert's back leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on trumpet this coming Friday 21st  February 2020....at Club Ashfield ...... with Greg on trumpet lead,  Bradley Newman on on piano  and Chris Gentle on drums ...the Bridge City JB  regulars join them... Al Davey is a great trumpet player as well as trombonist...you often see him at Club Ashfield playing trombone for us when Mike Hallam is away leading his own band somewhere....we've got Al leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on  trumpet this coming Friday 14th February 2019 with Peter Locke on the Club's grand piano, and Graham Hilgendorf is on our drumkit, ...they join the Bridge City JB regulars...Colin Beal on reeds, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
