Yes its time for The Bouncin' Czech to return to Club Ashfield to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band...this coming Friday 3rd July is the date....Jiri Kripac's back and will be back at the end of the month on the 31st to lead again, celebrating David Steven's 90th birthday...David's with us on the 3rd on the Club's grand piano as is Chris Gentle on the drum stool...all joining with the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars, John Bates, trombone/vocals; Colin Davies, double bass; Colin Beal, reeds and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo......
Be a swinger of a night...pop down to Charlotte Street to join us.....
Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway
station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in
the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant
serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....

Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 3rd July 2015 we've an old mate of our's..."The bouncing Czech", Jiri Kripac on trumpet with David Stevens on piano and "practicing for his 90th next month" and Chris Gentle on drums...
