Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 8th August 2014,we've multi instrumentalist Geoff Power leading the band on trumpet and Kym Till on the piano with Joel Davis on drums.....

Geoff Power is a busy musician based in Sydney and despite his own band gigs and heavy teaching load its great he has the time and loves to come to Club Ashfield to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band...Kym Till, who was at the Club the previous week on trumpet lead is a great jazz pianist as well and joins the band for this coming Friday 8th August on the Club's grand piano with  Joel Davis on drums...
They couple with regulars John Bates on trombone/vocals; Colin Beal on alto saxophone and clarinet; Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.....
The night is one of swinging traditional jazz.....great for dancing and listening to.....
Come along to Club Ashfield, beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern/Parramatta Rd side in 5 Charlotte St., Ashfield...the gig is on the first floor in the Club's newly renovated bistro/function area, starting at 7.30pm through to 10.30pm....and its FREE.....
