Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....GOOD NEWS! Club Ashfield open again for Trad. Jazz with the Bridge City Jazz Band this Friday 19th February 2021... as the usual 7 piece format, with special guests for the night.... Greg Englert on trumpet lead, Carolyn Packer on piano & Chris Gentle on drums...

Well the first two nights at Club Ashfield for the Bridge City Jazz Band's restart for 2021 have gone down "a treat"with enthusiastic jazz loving crowds.... this coming Friday 19th February 2021 sees as special guests, Greg Englert lead the band on trumpet.... he's a great Louis Armstrong fan so expect a night with a "Louis leaning".... on the Club's grand piano is Carolyn Packer, a great boogie player & we've Chris Gentle on the bands drum kit... they complement the band regulars.... Mike Hallam on trombone, Jack Wiard on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass & myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo..

Still no dancing or singing but the "2 square metre rule"opens out seating a little....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on most Jazz nights....

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...
