Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 2nd June 2017 is a special Birthday Bash for leading Sydney New Orleans style trumpet player Geoff Bull with Gary Walford on piano and Graham Hilgendorf as the other special guests on the night....

We've not had one of our "Birthday Bashes" at Club Ashfield for some time and it a pleasure for the Bridge City Jazz Band to celebrate Sydney trumpet player Geoff Bull's 75th this coming Friday 2nd June 2017 with as special guests Gary Walford playing the Club's grand piano and Graham Hilgendorf on drums joining the Bridge City JB regulars Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo and a welcome back from a south American holiday with wife Marion to Colin Davies on double bass.....
The usual large birthday cake will "be on" during the night for you to savour with a large birthday card to note memories of Geof....

  Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

 Can now confirm we've a "wake" to play for th late John Bates... Sat. afternoon 8th July2017 at Club Ashfield.....more news shortly...
