Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 9th June 2017 we're featuring the 1920's Sydney jazz singer Greg Poppleton with Al Davey on trumpet lead, Brad Newman on the piano, Pam Withnall on reeds and Jim Morrell on drums....

It's some time since we featured the 1920's Sydney jazz singer Greg Poppleton with the Bridge City Jazz band at Club Ashfield with Al Davey leading the band, Brad Newman on the Club's grand piano and with our regular reed player away its good to feature Pam Withnall on reeds...she plays a mean soprano sax....and long time drummer Jim Morrell is on the drum kit......they compliment the rest of the Bridge City JB regulars, Mike Hallam on trombone, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo and back from a South American holiday our regular bass player Colin Davies....

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
