Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 12th May 2017 sees a special lineup...several young musos getting put in the traditional jazz harness...Geoff Power leads the band on trumpet with his son Michael Power on trombone, down from Newcastle are Rachel Hamilton on piano and Craig Goeldner on bass with Cy Donkin on the drum kit....

Speaking with Geoff Power several months back I suggested getting some of the young musos in his Great Gatsby Orchestra to play with us in the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield...he agreed, so this coming Friday 12th May 2017 with Geoff Power on trumpet lead, we've his son Michael on trombone, a drummer from Geoff's orchestra, Cy Donkin and down from Newcastle on the Club's grand piano is Rachel Hamilton and her husband Craig Goeldner on double bass....they are joined by the Bridge city regulars, Colin Beal on reeds and Dennis Quinlan on banjo..
This really is shaping up to a great night of traditional jazz....
Hope you are coming...!!

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
