Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 4th September we've Mike Hallam on trumpet lead, Brad Newman on the Club's grand piano and Craig Lee on the drum stool.... 2015

Mike Hallam is a great fan of Louis Armstrong, in fact he emulates him when he sings some times and he's with us tonight leading the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield...ably supported by Brad Newman on piano who has really come on as a jazz muso, with Craig Lee on the bands drum set....
With them are the regular Bridge City Jazz Band members...Colin Beal, back after cataract surgery and on reeds, John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.....
A super night of traditional jazz, always ideal for dancing.....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights.... Best of all the admission is FREE....
