Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 14th August 2015 we've a double 80th birthday bash for two well known sydney musos...both playing on the night....Frank Watts on piano and Colin Beal on reeds...the band is led by Geoff Power on trumpet and Jim Morrell is on drums....a great night promised...

Well this coming Friday 14th August we've another of the Bridge City Jazz Bands big birthday bashes....
A double one this time with two muso's hitting 80 yo.....!
Frank Watts is one and plays piano for us as well, one of our special guests.....
The other is our regular reed player, Colin Beal....
Leading the band is Geoff Power with Jim Morrell on drums, our two other special guests.....
some selected sit-ins from muso friends during the evening....
The usual large birthday cake to share amongst you our audience....
Two special large A3 birthday cards, one each, with photo montages of their life on the cover and back page with space in the centre to write some nice comments for them....
Come along...a great night of traditional jazz and a time to celebrate a special time in two guys lives.....

 Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights.... Best of all the admission is FREE....
