Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 28th February 2014 sees JIRI KRIPAC tpt. DAVID STEVENS piano & CHRIS GENTLE drums as the special guests...
Well we've "The Bouncin' Czech"...the inimitable Jiri Kripac back leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on trumpet at Club Ashfield, with his old mate David Stevens on the Club's grand piano and Chris Gentle on drums...these together with John Bates on trombone/vocals, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double Bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo will see a swinging traditional jazz band....
