Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 17th January 2014 see "the Canberra Trio" back with us...Tony Thomas on trumpet lead, Ron Cook on the Club's grand piano and Ian Hill on the drum kit....

Fresh back from the 68th Australian Jazz Convention where we played as a combined Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz band sees Tony Thomas lead the band on trumpet/vocals, Ron Cook on the Club Ashfield grand piano and Ian Hill on the bands drum kit....
A really tight rhythm section sees this band a ripper and will swing like a dunny door in a southerly breeze...
The regular Bridge City Jazz band people are ...John Bates on trombone/vocals, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...

Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, right beside the Ashfield Railway Station on the northern side...the gig is on the first floor bistro/function area 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
