Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 1st September 2017 sees us with another two trumpet night...James Power & Mike Hallam, with Al Davey on trombone, Brad Newman on piano and Jim Morrell on drums...

Its another two trumpet night at Club Ashfield this coming Friday the 1st September 2017 with James Power and Mike Hallam on the trumpet leads, Al Davey on trombone ( likely on third trumpet during the evening...), Brad Newman on the Club's grand piano and Jim Morrell on the drums joining the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars, Colin Beal,reeds...Colin Davies, double bass...and Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
With Geoff Power's charts the night will be a swinger.....


Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

 With the recent passing of Kate Dunbar, Sydney and Australia lost a great jazz singer and a wonderful advocate for jazz music...
We've a musical oriented wake organised for her at Club Ashfield on Saturday 16th September 2017 from 12noon to around 5pm...there will be the opportunity for people to socialise and listen to some music including some singers...hope to see you there...
