Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 22nd April sees Geoff Power on trumpet lead with Monique Lysiak on the Club's grand piano and Mr.Smoothie, Joel Davis on drums....
Geoff Power is one of Sydney's best trumpet players and delights in coming to Club Ashfield to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band which he's booked to do this coming Friday 22nd April 2016 with our other two special guests, "unique" Monique Lysiak on piano and Joel Davis on drums..... The regular Bridge City band members join them to make up a swinging 7 piece traditional, danceable Jazz Band...Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass, Dennis Quinlan on banjo and John Bates on trombone and vocals...... Come along and enjoy yourselves....7.30pm to 10.30pm....
Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway
station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in
the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant
serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....
Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...
