Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 8th April sees Tony Thomas on trumpet lead and Ron Cook on the Club's grand piano, both up from Canberra with Eric Gibbons on trombone down from Newcastle and Mr Smoothie- Joel Davis on drums....

An interesting evening coming up this Friday 8th April  at Club Ashfield with our two ex. Canberra Black Mountain Jazz Band musos, Tony Thomas leading the band and Ron Cook on piano....our regular trombonist, John Bates is away this night and we're pleased to have down from Newcastle the New Orleans style trombonist Eric Gibbons to join the band for the night...our other special guest is drummer Joel Davis, "Mr Smoothie".....they make up the Bridge City Jazz band for the night with regulars Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.....
A super night of traditional jazz shaping up.....glads rags on and dancing shoes polished? We'd love to see you on the night....

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....
