Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 16th October, despite us just having a "farewell to Bill" night, we've Bill Dudley for one last time before he travels to far north Qld..Cairns..to live...

Bill Dudley drives out of Sydney on 23rd October with his lady Lynn for a new life in Cairns, far north Queensland...despite us having a special "farewell to Bill" night for him the other week...which went off a treat...we've managed to get him for one last time playing cornet lead for the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield....Bradley Newman is on the Club's grand piano with Jim Morrell on drums and as I'm in the UK that night it's great to have Cliff Parsons dep for me on banjo....
A great night for sure....
Will "swing like a dunny door in a southerly.."
Get your glad rags on and come along to Club Ashfield on Friday 16th October..7.30pm to 10.30pm...
The rest of the Bridge City Jazz Band boys are there...Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds and John Bates on trombone...

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....
