Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 23rd October we've Al Davey on trumpet lead and likely sometime during the night on trombone with "unique" Monique Lysiak on piano and Jim Morrell on drums....

A great Sydney based trumpet player is Al Davey and equally competent on trombone and yes he sings as well...so its a pleasure to have Al lead the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 23rd October with a special lady.."unique" Monique Lysiak on Club Ashfield's grand piano and Jim Morrell is backing up for another go on the drum seat for us....
Making up the usual seven piece traditional jazz band is the regular Bridge City Jazz Band crew...John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan back on banjo.....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...
