Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 17th April 2015...we've a two trumpet front line....Bob Barnard and Al Davey with Peter Locke on the Club's grand piano, Paul Furniss on reeds and Jim Morrell on drums....what a night!!!

Its been some years since the Bridge City Jazz Band has run a two trumpet front line at Club Ashfield...likely the last was with the late, sadly missed John Wilson and Geoff Bull on trumpet lead.....
Well we are running another this coming Friday 17th April 2015 featuring Bob Barnard and Al Davey on the trumpet lead...perhaps a "west coast" number or two...?
Peter Locke is on the Club's grand piano, Paul Furniss on additional reeds, Jim Morrell on drums with the regular Bridge City personnel, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass, John Bates on trombone and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo.... a  9 piece band!
You wont see this often in Sydney or elsewhere for that matter.....
Put it in your diary....see you on the night....

 Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights.... Best of all the admission is FREE....
