Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 6th February 2015, we've that great Internationally renowned Sydney trumpeter Bob Barnard leading the band with Frank Watts on the Club's grand piano and Joel Davis on drums...a super night shaping up

We really are lucky here in Sydney to have access to some of the  top international jazz musicians and Bob Barnard is one of them...he's leading the Bridge City Jazz Band this coming Friday at Club Ashfield with well known central coast pianist Frank Watts on the Club's grand piano and tasteful drummer Joel Davis making up the special guest lineup to complement the usual Bridge City Jazz Band regulars....John Bates, trombone and vocals; Colin Beal, reeds, Colin Davies, double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
A night of great traditional jazz shaping up.....

Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights.... Best of all the admission is FREE....
