This is the second time we've invited Greg Poppleton with his Bakelite Broadcasters to join up with the Bridge City Jazz Band as our special guests......
Greg sings in the 1920's style and features music from that era.....so we'll have a range of styles on the forthcoming Friday 9th May, with Greg singing during each set, Al Davey on trumpet lead, and making his debut at Club Ashfield is Bradley Newman on piano...Bradley has played piano with my Sydney Banjo Band for months now and we are looking forward to his entry into the band scene....the drum stool is taken by a regular of ours, Graham Hilgendorf....
The usual Bridge City Jazz Band regulars make up the band...John Bates on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
Come along and see for yourself...a night of swinging traditional jazz at Club Ashfield, 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern or Parramatta road side...gig on the clubs first floor in the bistro/function area starting 7.30pm through to 10.30pm...
