Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 16th May 2014, Ron Cook on piano and Ian Hill on drums...The Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz Band in action!!!. Then on the Sunday 18th the band plays at "The Pines", Dural 12.30pm-4pm...

We always like the Canberra trio, the last of the old Black Mountain Jazz band to come up to Sydney to play with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield...
A great 7 piece traditional jazz band with a New Orleans flavour...The Black Mountain and Bridge city Jazz Band.....
This coming Friday 16th May 2014 sees us together again at Club Ashfield with a further gig on the Sunday 18th May at "The Pines", Old Northern Road, Dural, some 300 metres though the village, with it being an open air gig you'd have to keep an eye on the weather as they could cancel it during the early morning...
Of course the band is Tony Thomas on trumpet lead/vocals, Ron cook on the club's grand piano, Ian Hill on the band drum kit with John Bates, trombone/vocals, Colin Beal clarinet and alto saxophone, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo.
As usual it will "swing like a dunny door in a southerly..."
