Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 7th June sees the band led by Geoff Bull, with Peter Locke on piano, Paul Furniss on reeds and Neal Macbeth on drums....

We were planning a two trumpet evening this coming Friday 7th June 2013 with John Wilson and Geoff Bull playing some West Coast stuff, but regrettably John Wilson's health has seen him cancel...we wish him well for a speedy recovery.. so we'll have Geoff Bull on trumpet lead, the music taking a more New Orleans flavour, Peter Locke on Club Ashfield's grand piano, Paul Furniss replacing regular Colin Beal on reeds with Colin down at Merrimbula for the Jazz Festival and Neal Macbeth on drums....Bridge City Jazz Band regulars John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Davies on double bass and my self, Dennis Quinlan on banjo make up the band for  the evening...
A great  night of jazz played by a swinging traditional jazz band....
Hope to see you there....
Club Ashfield, 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway Station on the northern side...gig starts at 7-30pm through 10-30pm in the first floor bistro/function room...

Future nights with special guests at Club Ashfield and other venues....
