Live traditional, danceable Jazz in Sydney....!! Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 10th May sees the band led by the great soprano sax player, Paul Furniss, with Monique Lysiak on piano and Viv Carter on drums....

Paul Furniss returns to Club Ashfield as the leader of  the Bridge City Jazz band this coming Friday 10th May......
His strong lead with soprano saxophone haunts back to the style of the great creole soprano player Sidney Bechet, originally from New Orleans.....
Pauls playing often reflects Bechet's style....
Monique Lysiak is a great piano player and complements Paul with long time friend and player in Paul's own band, the San Francisco Jazz Band, Viv Carter on drums.....
Heck I can hardly wait for the evening to arrive myself!
Complementing the special guests are house band regulars, Colin Beal, John Bates, Colin Davies and Dennis Quinlan.....
Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station...the gig is 7.30pm to 10.30pm and up on the first floor in the bistro/function area....
