Live Jazz...Live Jazz in Sydney....Live Traditional Jazz....! Just back from the big Jazz Festival in Ascona, Switzerland, Paul Furniss leads the Bridge City Jazz Band on Friday 20th July 2012....a great night shaping up....

During the last month, Paul Furniss, Bob Henderson, John Blenkhorn and Dave Barnett were invited guests at the prestigious Ascona Jazz Festival in Switzerland..... just back from Europe, Paul Furniss leads the Bridge City Jazz Band on soprano saxophone and clarinet.....he and Colin Beal are sure to play some inspiring clarinet duets....
Supporting them are three other special guests...Frank Watts on the Club's grand piano, Viv Carter on drums and with Colin Davies on vacation, Gary Kohrman is playing acoustic double bass....
The rest of the usual band is there....Colin Beal on clarinet, John Bates on trombone and vocals and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
The night will swing like a dunny door in a southerly to quote an old  Aussie expression...
At Club Ashfield, 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield in the first floor bistro/function area, 7.30pm to 10.30pm...admission free....
