Live Jazz in Sydney...live traditional Jazz!!..Jiri Kripac "The bouncing Czech" is the guest leader of the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 3rd August...

He sure is a character around the traditional Jazz scene in NSW...now based in the Avoca Beach area, Jiri Kripac...affectionately known as "The Bouncing Czech", likely because of his heritage....Jiri is back at Club Ashfield with the regular Bridge City Jazz Band guys....Colin Davies, double bass; Dennis Quinlan, banjo; Colin Beal, reeds and John Bates trombone and vocals......
On piano is David Stevens who plays regularly in Jiri's groups and the band is rounded out with Chris Gentle on drums....
Always an interesting night when Jiri is driving the band.....
Usual time...7.30pm to 10.30pm, in the upstairs bistro/function area.....
Club Ashfield is at 5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, beside Ashfield Railway Station on the north side....see direction further down this post....
