Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....GOOD NEWS! Club Ashfield open again for Trad. Jazz with the Bridge City Jazz Band this Friday 19th March 2021... as the usual 7 piece format, with special guests for the night.... leading on trumpet is Al Davey with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano & Lawrie Bennett on drums....

Well Al Davey was on trombone with the band at Club Ashfield last Friday but he's back this Friday 19th April 2021 leading on trumpet with Gary Walford on piano & Lawrie Bennett on the bands drumkit....

They join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars, Jack Wiard on reeds, Mike Hallam on trombone, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo & Colin Davies on double bass...

Still no dancing due to the closeness to the band with the 5 metre from the band rule still in place by NSW Health....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Grand Stella Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on most Jazz nights....

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...
