Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....GOOD NEWS! Club Ashfield open again for Trad. Jazz with the Bridge City Jazz Band Fridays from 5th February 2021... as the usual 7 piece format, with special guests for the night.... Al Davey on trumpet lead, Graham Hilgendorf on drums & Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano. Jack Wiard is now our reed player...

With 2021 starting off badly for music with Covid clusters around Sydney & some control of them it it great to announce that Club Ashfield is open for jazz again each Friday evening from 7.30pm to 10.30pm starting on Friday 5th February 2021....

The core of the band is Mike Hallam on trombone ( and occasional trumpet lead), Colin Davies on double bass & myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo. With Colin Beal still unwell, we welcome Jack Wiard as the band reed player.

the special guests tonight are, leading the band, Al Davey on trumpet, Gary Walford on the piano & Graham Hilgendorf on our drumkit....

Come back and support great traditional jazz....

Unfortunately there is still no dancing and we won't have any sit-in musos for the immediate future.....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on most Jazz nights....
