Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 20th May we're having " A Celebration of 1920's Jazz" led by David Ridyard on soprano sax and other reeds, Bradley Newman on piano, Jim Morrell on drums and Gary Kohrmann on double bass....

This coming Friday at Club Ashfield we've a special evening that features David Ridyard leading the Bridge City Jazz Band for "A Celebration of 1920's Jazz", Bradley Newman is on the Club's grand piano, Jim Morrell is on drums and with our regular bass player away on a UK holiday for 3 months we had Gary Kohrmann on double bass....they compliment the regular Bridge City Jazz Band personnel....John Bates on trombone and vocals, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo and Colin Beal on additional reeds.....
This is building up to a super night of traditional jazz.......

Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
Best of all the admission is FREE....
