Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 15th November 2013 we've a surprise with Geoff Poppleton's Bakelite Broadcasters joining the Bridge City Jazz band members....

Greg Poppleton is a 1920's styled jazz vocalist and leads several groups in Sydney...the Lounge Bar Lotharios and the Bakelite Broadcasters...
We've invited him and three members of his Bakelite Broadcasters band to join with the Bridge City Jazz Band for this coming Friday 15th November at Club Ashfield...
With Greg is Alan Davey on trumpet lead and occasional trombone, Frank Watts on the Club's grand piano and Lawrie Thompson on drums...as usual the Bridge City JB members are Colin Beal on clarinet and alto saxophone, John Bates on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
Making up for a great interesting evening of traditional jazz.....

Future guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield, 5 Charlotte St., Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway Station...the gig is free and up on the first floor of the Club in the bistro/function area...7.30pm to 10.30pm.
