Victorian trumpet player John Roberts is in Sydney occasionally during the year and if the "planets are in alignment" I can get him to be the featured trumpet player with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield.
The latest "alignment" occurs this coming Friday 9th March and his friend and pianist David Stevens will be another of our guests for the night and a welcome back to our retired drummer, Jim Morrell to take over the drum stool. With the regular Bridge City guys....John Bates, trombone and vocals; Colin Beal, clarinet and alto saxophone and Colin Davies, double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo, the evening is shaping up to one of great traditional Jazz...
