Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....Club Ashfield is now open after the long lockdown ..... the Club has started jazz again & on Friday 3rd December 2021...joining the Bridge City JB regulars on the night are Greg Englert trumpet lead, Peter Locke on the Club's grand piano with Graham Hilgendorf on drums...

 Greg Englert leads the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield   on  Friday 3rd  December 2021 with other special guests Peter Locke on the Club's grand piano & Graham Hilgendorf on drums...joining the Bridge City JB regulars Mike Hallam on trombone, Jack Wiard on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass & Dennis Quinlan on banjo....

To enter the Club you need to be double vaccinated & have the correct method of showing this.... I've attached a sheet for your reference. A letter from your doctor indicating you are double vaccinated is not legal & if you have only this you will need to visit a Medicare office...this could take an hour... ....come back and visit us for a great night of traditional jazz with a strong Louis Armstrong "flavour"......

 

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Grand Stella Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on most Jazz nights....

Sadly, Colin Beal who played reeds with the Bridge City Jazz Band for some 17 years has passed away...

His funeral service is at a cremation chapel in Woronora Cemetery, Thursday 9th December 2021 at 12 noon......
