Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 14th July 2017 "the bouncing Czech", Jiri Kripac is back leading the band on trumpet with David Stevens on piano and Chris Gentle on drums...

Agh, we've our good mate Jiri Kripac alias "the bouncing Czech" with us this coming Friday 14th July 2017 as trumpet lead and his mate David Stevens on Club Ashfield's grand piano and fellow reprobate Chris Gentle on the drum stool as our special guests, joining the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars, Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
Jiri will wow us with his tune selections for the night...hope to see you there...






Future special guests with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield and other BCJB future gigs...

 Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....



This Sat. afternoon 8th July 2017 at Club Ashfield we've a "wake" to play for the late John Bates...  .....from 12noon in the first floor Charlotte Room where The Bridge City JB plays....John's partner Brenda Potter and her family with Esther and Becce are coming up from Melbourne. We've a few planned sets then musos there will be invited to play in groups and to toast there friendship with John over all those years...perhaps with a "Tooheys Old", John's favourite beer...
