Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 17th February 2017 Bill Dudley's in town, down from Cairns for the weekend...Bill Dudley leads the band on cornet, Carolyn Packer is on piano, Jim Fletcher on drums and David Ridyard on tenor sax....

BILL's BACK IN TOWN... Bill Dudley's in Sydney this coming weekend and we've got him to lead the Bridge City Jazz Band on Friday 17th Feb.with several members from his old band joining him as special guests at Club Ashfield that night....Carolyn Packer on the club's grand piano, Jim Fletcher on drums and with our regular trombone player Mike Hallam away on a cruise David Ridyard is on tenor saxophone....plus the Bridge City JB regulars....
Great night coming....

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.....
John Bates who played with us in the Bridge City Jazz Band  and Paul Furniss' San Francisco Jazz Band for many years and many other groups around Australia in his over 60 years of playing is moving from Sydney with his partner Brenda Potter to Melbourne in March....
So we've a special  ""Farewell to John and Brenda" at Club Ashfield on Friday 24th February, 7.30pm.... the band will be led by Tony Thomas tpt, Ron Cook piano, Paul Furniss, reeds and Jim Morrell on drums...
John will socialise and perhaps do a song or two for us. 
His medical issues prevent him playing trombone.....

 Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....
