Happy New Year to all our Jazz followers......
The Bridge City Jazz Band starts back at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 6th January 2017 and we've a trumpet lead we've not used before but know well and have played with him, often at the long running, now closed gig, with the Eclipse Alley 5 Jazz Band at the Strawberry Hills Hotel in Sydney....
Bruce Johnson is our lead for the night....welcome Bruce, with Monique Lysiak on the Club's grand piano, Paul Furniss on reeds filling in for our regular reed player, Colin Beal who is still on holiday and Mr Smoothie, Joel Davis on drums....together with the Bridge City JB regulars Colin Davies on double bass, myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo and welcoming to our trombone spot in the band, Mike Hallam who replaces John Bates who unfortunately still has major medical issues to confront....
All we need is your good selves and the night will be a swinging one of traditional jazz....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

Best of all the admission is FREE....
