Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...this coming Friday 13th December 2013 sees the guys from Canberra come up to join the band...Tony Thomas on trumpet, Ron Cook on piano and Ian Hill on drums....

We always enjoy joining up with the old Black Mountain Jazz Band people....Tony Thomas on trumpet lead, Ron Cook on Club Ashfield's grand piano and Ron Cook on the drum stool....
Together we form a band that plays several other gigs throughout the year...The Black Mountain and Bridge City Jazz Band.....
The usual lineup from the Bridge City Jazz band is Colin Beal on reeds, John Bates on trombone and vocals, Colin Davies on double bass and Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
We've one more Friday this year at the Club before the whole Bridge City Jazz Band personnel go to the 68th Australian Jazz Convention at Goulburn, but we'll be back again at Club Ashfield on Friday 3rd January 2014....

Where is Club Ashfield...?    5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway Station on the northern side with the gig on the first floor in the bistro/function area..7.30pm to 10.30pm and it is FREE...
Note there is no Jazz on the Friday 27th December.....back again on Friday 3rd January.
