Live Jazz in Sydney!!!! The Bridge City and Black Mountain Jazz bands combine this Friday 18th May at Club Ashfield and then on the Sunday for an outdoor gig at The Pines

Once again the former Black Mountain Jazz band joins with the Bridge City Jazz Band for an evening and an afternoon of great traditional jazz with a New Orleans flavour.....
Tony Thomas, trumpet, Ron Cook, piano and Ian Hill drums are up from Canberra and the South Coast for the Friday 18th May at Club Ashfield's regular Friday Night Jazz gig...then we'll be playing at the "Jazz at the Pines" venue on the Old Northern Road, Dural, Sunday 20th, 12.30pm to 4pm,just past the fork in the road on the way to Wiseman's Ferry.
See the maps further down this post.
This latter is an open air gig and of course weather dependent, the venue is now the main information Centre for the area and a call on the Sunday morning, 02.9651.4411 should the day look like rain could be wise. There is an admission charge of  $12 adults/$10 concession/$25 family and you bring your own picnic lunch and drinks, although the information centre has tea/coffee and cakes....sit around the provided tables and chairs under the large pine trees listening to jazz....
Friday night is of course at Club Ashfield...5 Charlotte Street, Ashfield, beside the railway station on the northern side.
In the first floor bistro/function area...7.30pm to 10.30pm, admission free and nice food from the bistro with drinks from the bar at Club prices.....
The regular Bridge City guys are at both gigs....myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...Colin Beal on clarinet and alto saxophone...Colin Davies on double bass and John Bates on trombone and vocals....
Mark them in your diary and order a bbqued chicken for the Sunday....
At a previous "Jazz at the Pines".....
