Jazz in Sydney ....Wally Temple's big 75th birthday bash with the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield Friday 29th July 2011...

We've run birthday bash's for notable musicians in the Sydney area having notable birthdays for nearly 10 years now....
What do I mean by a "notable birthday"...it's one ending in a "0" or a "5"....
cheer's mate...!
Wally Temple is 75 on the 27th of July and has been involved with Jazz all his life from his beginnings in London with drums/trumpet/guitar to his emigration to Sydney ages ago when he initially played drums with many of the major Sydney Jazz scene musicians, changing to reeds and following his interest in New Orleans style of jazz he plays an Albert system clarinet and a Selma mk.6 alto saxophone....
So he's our special guest....
And he'll be part of the band...
We'll have some organised sit-in's and Wally will mingle with the crowd and ensure you sign his special large birthday card made up by DQ and consume some of the large birthday cake we'll have for him....
Bill Dudley will lead the band on trumpet and vocals, Gary Walford is on piano, Jim Morrell on drums and the usual Bridge City band of John Bates, trombone; Colin Davies, double bass; Colin Beal, reeds; myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo.
So come along and celebrate the night with great jazz...
