Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday ...and this coming Friday the 5th April 2019 has Paul Furniss on soprano sax lead with Laura Power on reeds, Bradley Newman on piano and Joel Davis on drums....

Paul Furniss will lead off the forthcoming night at Club Ashfield on Friday 5th  April 2019 with pianist Bradley Newman on the Club's grand piano, and a first for us, featuring Laura Power on reeds with Joel Davis on drums... all in the band with Bridge City regulars .. Colin Davies double bass, Mike Hallam on trombone.. and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
Sure to be some clarinet duets.....

 Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....

Mike Hallam moves  on to trumpet lead for this coming Bridge City Jazz Band gig at Club Ashfield on Friday 29th March 2019, Robbie Mann on piano, Geoff Power on trombone and Cy Donkin on drums....and with our regular reed player away we've Pam Withnall  filling that seat....

Al Davey is a great trumpet player as well as trombonist...you often see him at Club Ashfield playing trombone for us when Mike Hallam is away leading his own band somewhere....we've got Al leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on  trumpet this coming Friday 22nd March 2018 with Gordon Brown on the Club's grand piano and Graham Hilgendorf is on our drumkit, with Colin Beal away we've Jack Wiard on reeds...they join the Bridge City JB regulars...Mike Hallam on trombone, Colin Davies on double bass,  and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
