Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday 4th December we've Al Davey back on trumpet lead and likely some trombone in the sit-in set, Kym till on piano and Chris Gentle on drums.....

Al Davey is a wizz on both trumpet and trombone and we've got him leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on trumpet this coming Friday 4th December 2015 at Club Ashfield with Kym Till on the Club's grand piano and Chris Gentle on drums all special guests with the Bridge City JB regulars...Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds, John Bates on trombone and vocals and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
always a great night of traditional jazz and what is considered to be the home of traditional jazz in Sydney....Club Ashfield...

Rachel Hamilton is a great lady and mother to three lovely children and a super jazz pianist to boot...
So we in the Bridge City Jazz Band are really pleased to organise a 40th Birthday Bash at  for her at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 27th November 2015 with Paul Furniss on soprano sax lead and Jim Morrell on drums, both who have played in groups with Rachel over the years...as have the regular Bridge City JB members, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass, John Bates on trombone/vocals and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo....
As usual we'll have selected sit-ins with visiting musos, a great big A3 birthday card with photos of her family and musical life and a big birthday cake to celebrate with on the night....

Jiri Kripac's been overseas of late...likely doing some playing and for sure he'll do some this coming Friday 20th November 2015 at Club Ashfield with trumpet lead...David Stevens is on the Club's grand piano and Chris Gentle is on drums....together with the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars...Colin Davies on double bass, Colin Beal on reeds, John Bates on trombone/vocals and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo...

Its been some years since we've had Greg Englert lead the Bridge City Jazz Band...unsure of the reason, but he sure "slipped under my radar".....good to have him this coming Friday 13th November 2015 and great to have "Unique" Monique Lysiak on Club Ashfield's grand piano, with Chris Gentle in the drum chair....coupled with the Bridge City JB regulars...John Bates on trombone/vocals, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself, Dennis Quinlan on banjo as per usual a great night of traditional jazz coming up.....
