Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 4th November George Washingmachine that super jazz violinist is back leading the band with Gary Walford on piano, Al Davey on trombone and Joel Davis on drums....

Super jazz violinist George Washingmachine is leading the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 4th November with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano, Al Davey on trombone and Joel Davis on drums...combining with the Bridge City JB regulars, Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo...
A great night of hot traditional jazz shaping up....

Club Ashfield is at 1-11 Charlotte Street, Ashfield beside the Ashfield Railway station on the northern side and the gig is up on the first floor in the bistro/Charlotte Room function area from 7.30pm to 10.30pm with the restaurant serving nice food until 9pm.....I always eat there on Jazz nights....  
Best of all the admission is FREE....

Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 28th October we've got Mike Hallam leading the band on trumpet..sure to have his trombone and harmonica for the likely sit-in set..Frank Watts is on the Club's grand piano, Craig Lee on drums and Eric Gibbons on trombone...

Mike Hallam's back with us this week at Club Ashfield leading the Bridge City Jazz Band on trumpet with other special guests Frank Watts on piano, Craig Lee on drums and down from Newcastle, Eric Gibbons on trombone..all joining the band regulars Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo to provide a great night of traditional jazz....

Paul Furniss on soprano sax lead always adds a different flavour to the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this Friday 21st October 2016 with Gary Walford on the Club's grand piano with Lawrie Thompson on the bands drum kit, joining the Bridge City JB regulars...Colin Beal on reeds, Colin Davies on double bass and myself Dennis Quinlan on banjo.....John Bates our regular trombonist is having a medical procedure that will see him out of action for several months so we've Eric Gibbons that nice New Orleans style trombonist with us on the night...

Welcome to Sydney's traditional jazz scene...live jazz in Sydney......Club Ashfield is the venue and with its long residency, The Bridge City Jazz Band is the band....a nominal 4 piece we have three special guests each Friday taking the band up to a 7 piece swinging trad.jazz band...and this coming Friday the 14th October we're having back Greg Englert on trumpet, David Stevens on piano and Chris Gentle on drums...

Now we've got Greg Englert back in harness with us it's nice to have him lead the Bridge City Jazz Band at Club Ashfield this coming Friday 14th October 2016 with evergreen David Stevens , who has just turned 91 would you believe, on the Club's grand piano and a favourite...Chris Gentle on drums.....
They join the Bridge City Jazz Band regulars, John Bates, trombone/vocals; Colin Beal, reeds; Dennis Quinlan, banjo and Colin Davies on double bass....
